Giripurno Village is located about 8 km from Borobudur Temple with Menoreh Hills as the background and beautiful natural landscape. Almost all residences are farmers growing rambutan, cassava, papaya, coconut, and Albacia. It is a village that situated in Menoreh Mountain slope nears Purworejo District and has a suitable climate for growing up and developing Etawa goats.
In 2004, the then Indonesian president, Megawati Soekarnoputri inaugurated Merapi Mountain National Parks and launched Solo-Selo-Borobudur travel lane, because it links Solo and Borobudur Temple in Magelang through Selo district in Boyolali which surrounded by Merapi and Merbabu mountain. There are some magnificent waterfalls with 100 m heights and located with a lovely view of hills and mountain. Mongkrong tops lie in Giripurno Village and Borobudur Temple can be seen among farms around Merapi in the morning.
