Giritengah Village is located about 5 km from Borobudur Temple with Menoreh Hills as the background and beautiful natural landscape. It looks like a horseshoe because it was surrounded by hills.
The villagers uphold local culture and tradition in their daily activities. Giritengah Village has a historical significance. Between 1825 to 1830, Diponegoro Prince ever made it as his resting place. Some heritages with high historical value are preserved here.
