Ngadiharjo Village

Ngadiharjo Village located about 5 km from Borobudur Temple with Menoreh Hills as the background and beautiful natural landscape. Most villagers are farmer with chilli, rambutan, and rice as the product.

Sedekah Gunung Menoreh is a ritual from Ngadiharjo villagers to ask for a blessing and showing gratitude towards god. Villagers ask for blessings for farming, soil fertility, and prosperity. 

The villagers would bring agricultural products to the mountain such as paddy, cassava, banana, vegetables, tumpeng, and others. They will gather and pray together accompanied by Dayak dance performance.

Many years ago, Prince Diponegoro, a Javan nobility opposing the colonial rule passed this area and named a big fern tree Pakis Aji. Today the people refer this tree as the Saji Tree.
