Twin World Heritage Program: Taj Mahal and Prambanan Temple
To increase the awareness of the International Tourists and to align the position of the Borobudur temple & Prambanan Temple with the Top 10 Trip Advisor World Heritage destinations in 2017. The management of PT. TWC Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) carry out the Twin World Heritage Program. This program is carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in several countries.
The Twin World Heritage Program has been implemented since 2017, as for those who have collaborated with Borobudur Temple is world famous Machu Picchu, Peru. In July 2018 TWC cooperated with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) under the Ministry of Culture of India, the world heritage twin program between the Taj Mahal and the Prambanan Temple.
The Twin World Heritage program aims to harmonization of world culture, strengthen the branding of Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple to the international level which is parallel to others World Heritage, as well as the exchange market of each destination. The forms of collaboration are joint promotion, development of Human Resouces management in World Heritage, ticket bundling, joint exhibition, exchange market & cultural exchange.
TWC President Director, Edy Setijono, said that Twin World Heritage program is part of the promotion of the richness of Indonesian culture, especially the masterpieces of Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple can be more widely known by International Tourists, also parallel with the existence of the world’s leading Heritage destinations and these activities can be part of Indonesian cultural diplomacy to the world.
