Thousands of Participants Attended International Prambanan Yoga Day 2018

A total of 1.500 Yoga participants attended Prambanan International Yoga Day held at Garuda Mandala Field, Prambanan, Sleman on Sunday (24/6/2018). The event which was held to commemorate International Yoga Day which falls on June 21, was organized by PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWC). The event was also attended by Ambassador of India to Indonesia represented by Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Center Mr. Makrand, Minister of Tourism RI represented by Director of Asia & India Sigit Witjaksono, Director General of Horticulture Ministry of Agriculture, Suwandi, and Anjasmara and Javeetha as Yoga Teachers.

Edi Setijono as TWC Director explained that this event is held regularly every year. This is the 4th anniversary of Yoga at Prambanan Temple. “This is an event that has been from 6 months ago we prepare as a form of cooperation between Indonesia and India Enthusiast of participants is also good there are about 1.500 people. Yoga is now introduced as a lifestyle of healthy life,” he explained. According to Edi, Yoga can be used as an alternative exercise in keeping physical healthy. This is because in Yoga is taught the control of emotions and thoughts.
“Because Yoga is taught to control emotions and thoughts, this is very good for all of us. The event purpose to introducing Yoga and the cultural heritage. Yoga itself is a heritage culture originating from India. I think this is the right composition about Yoga and Prambanan Temple, “he explained.

Meanwhile, Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Center Mr. Makrand thanked for the holding of Yoga activities which is a legacy from India in Prambanan. According to this Yoga can strengthen peace and cooperation between countries. “Yoga can unite all of the world’s religions, yoga owners are the individuals who practice it, and thanks to TWC who has organized yoga that has been doing yoga every year. Yoga itself is health, happiness, harmony and peace.” he explained.
